Fortec Motorsport’s Linus Granfors remained the driver to beat after setting the fastest time in the second session of the day at Silverstone. However it was his session one effort from this morning that proved the fastest of the day.
The Swedish driver’s session two effort of 2m03.445s put him 0.364s clear of Arden’s Leon Wilson, as the British driver completed his strong build-up to the event, having been second fastest in the opening session.
Wilson was just under three tenths ahead of the lead Fox Motorsport car of Branden Templeton, while privateer Marcus Luzio completed his strongest day yet in GB4 with the fourth quickest time, and only a tenth further back.
Brandon McCaughan was the lead KMR Sport car in fifth, as he headed teammates Harry Burgoyne and Chloe Grant, who completed the top-seven spots in session two.
Elite’s Finn Harrison was eighth ahead of Fortec’s Jack Taylor, with Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter completing the top-10 in the final session.
All drivers recorded their best times in the first session of the day, meaning Granfors ends testing with an eight tenth margin to Wilson and Luzio, who were separated by just two thousandths.
McCaughan, Burgoyne and Grant filled the top-six overall, ahead of Templeton, Harrison, Megan Brice and Baxter.
The field are back in action with qualifying at 11.40 tomorrow (Saturday)
