Preptech UK will expand into single-seaters for the first time in 2024, after announcing plans to run a two-car team in the GB4 Championship.
The Oakhanger, Hampshire based-squad, led by Oliver Barnard, has firmly established itself as a leading contender across a wide range of disciplines since its formation in 2006.
The team has branched out into multiple categories, including a number of sports car and saloon series.
Firmly established in the Ginetta Junior Championship, Preptech UK has run multiple cars to silverware across recent seasons, including four drivers in this year’s series.
In addition, the squad has enjoyed success in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, as well as in endurance racing. Preptech UK has also competed in twice around the clock contests at Paul Ricard, Barcelona and Dubai, as well as being contenders in the Britcar category.
The team has already commenced a testing programme with its Tatuus F4-T014 machinery, and is now gearing up for its single-seater race debut in 2024.
Team Owner Oliver Barnard said: “We spent a lot of time evaluating possible additional options as a team for 2024 and highlighted GB4 as a sensible single seater option within the UK. We feel the series is continuing to grow as a formula that really offers drivers great experience of single seaters on a fantastic platform. We have completed a very successful shakedown with our first car and evaluating possible drivers for an entry into the 2024 Championship but welcome any new enquiries.”
