Elite Motorsport’s Josh Irfan makes his return to the GB4 Championship at Donington Park this weekend, and the 15-year-old is looking to continue where he left off after taking a podium on his first race weekend in cars.
Irfan banked a best result of third in Cheshire, bookmarked with a fifth and fourth place. Despite missing the Silverstone weekend due to his F4 commitments, still sits in seventh place in the championship standings heading to the Grand Prix circuit in the East Midlands.
“I’m looking forward to Donington,” he said. “I’ve raced on the National Circuit already this year, so I would like to bring that experience to help me this weekend.
“I really enjoyed the Oulton event, even more due to it being my first race out of karting. It was thrilling to drive at Oulton as it’s such a brilliant track. I’m also pleased with the amount of track time we got as drivers on that weekend as it gave me ample opportunity to improve as a driver. Getting my first podium in a single-seater will be something I never forget.”
Having impressed in F4 since then, he’s hoping to deliver more strong performances this weekend.
“I want to have fun at Donington and constantly continue improving. Hopefully I can push for another good result.”
