Additional GB4 race confirmed for Donington Park this weekend

Additional GB4 race confirmed for Donington Park this weekend

22 May 2023

There will now be four GB4 Championship races at Donington Park this weekend (27/28 May), with an extra contest added to the event schedule following the abandonment of race one (round four) at Silverstone.

Constant heavy rainfall led to the cancellation of all track activity at Silverstone during the afternoon of Saturday 6 May, and with no spare time available that weekend, the GB4 race that failed to take place has been carried over to the forthcoming event at Donington Park.

That race will be the first of the weekend (14.15 start time) with the grid based on the fastest qualifying times from Silverstone, as per the original result. Tom Mills will therefore start from pole position.

As this is a carry-over from the previous round, only those drivers who entered the Silverstone event will be eligible to take part, with each driver afforded an optional extra half set of tyres on top of the usual weekend allocation, for use in this race only.

The rest of the event will follow the usual GB4 event format, and will be open to all entrants, with qualifying at 10.55 on Saturday morning determining the grids for Donington Park race one (17.45 start time) and race two on Sunday morning (10.35). Click here to view the full event timetable.

Donington Park race three on Sunday (15.55) will again be a reversal of the qualifying order, with all drivers within 103% of the fastest times being inverted on the grid.

All four races this weekend will be streamed live on the GB4 Championship website, Facebook page and the MSV TV YouTube channel.
