Reynolds ready for more after breakthrough Silverstone triumph

Elite Motorsport’s Harri Reynolds claimed his first single-seater win in the final GB4 contest of the weekend at Silverstone, and the youngster is keen to build on that success at Donington Park this weekend.

Having climbed from sixth on the grid to the lead the first lap of the race, he controlled the restart to clinch victory and was quick to highlight the significance of such a result.

“My first win in single-seaters was very important,” he said. “The car is still very new to me with only a handful of test days, however Elite Motorsport has been amazing on bringing me up to speed quickly. I just need to make the most of every opportunity I get to drive the GB4 car.”

He also admits that the victory is a boost that he’s hoping will translate to further strong results this weekend.

“For sure it gives me extra confidence for Donington. The win at Silverstone takes the pressure off in some ways and now we know we can compete. Although the competition this year is very high, Donington has brought me success in the past so I am looking to continue that this year as I am feeling more comfortable in the car with every lap I do.”

Reynolds is a graduate from Ginetta Juniors, and reckons he’s adapting well to single-seaters.

“The driving style is quite different and a challenge, but I really love driving the GB4 car and fortunately have been able to adapt reasonably quickly.”

He’s now hoping for more front-running performances at Donington Park.

“My targets for this weekend are podiums and wins, but it’s important for me to impress enough to be able to keep racing.”
