Queen aiming to maintain momentum heading to Snetterton

Fortec Motorsport’s Colin Queen heads to Snetterton next weekend riding the crest of a wave following his best event of the season at Donington Park.

The American claimed three podiums from the four races, his biggest trophy haul yet, and now returns to a venue where he has significant mileage in GB4 machinery.

It was at the Norfolk circuit where Queen won the National Formula Ford GB4 shoot-out with Fortec last year, and he’s hoping to maintain his Donington Park form.

“Donington was definitely our strongest weekend to date in the GB4 Championship, and it was great to come away with three podiums from four races,” he said.

The 18-year-old highlights his qualifying pace as the area where the biggest progress has been made in recent weeks.

“We’ve made strides forward with our one lap pace, we were unlucky not to get overall pole position [at Donington]. To get pole for race three on second-fastest times was a great experience for me, even if we didn’t convert it into the win.

“It was probably the first time we’ve qualified up front and enjoyed some really fierce battles for the lead all the way through, so it’s a great experience to take forward.

“We’re running highly in the championship now heading to Snetterton, so the important thing is we keep this momentum rolling and aim for even better.”
