Fox Motorsport’s Sid Smith reckons he can fight for victories in the second half of the GB4 Championship season, after making big progress last time out at Snetterton.
The Fiesta Junior champion equalled his best result of the season with fifth place, and was firmly in the mix with the rest of the pack, as he battled up the order from his qualifying position.
After showing improved pace, he’s now aiming for breakthrough results.
“With every race great progress is being made and we are getting to where we want to be” he said.
“I believe the high point for me has been Snetterton in general really, I felt much more at home in the car. My setup knowledge and race craft has improved enough throughout the season and I felt like it started to show and the results we were looking for are finally being achieved.
“Unfortunately I am still looking for that podium after the outcome of the last race but we are certainly not giving up.
“It was great to be in the mix at Snetterton because that’s where we felt we should be I had some great battles with others and I loved it.”
He’s working hard behind the scenes too, as he aims for the top step.
“Between rounds I have stepped up the training and been doing everything I can to progress myself and in the sim. Now I need to keep pushing and get consistently high results.
“I believe now that there is truly a win on the hands but it isn’t going to come easy I have got to keep pushing.”
