We’re continuing our look back on the 2023 GB4 season, and this time we’re reviewing the key statistics that made Tom Mills the second champion of the series.
KMR Sport’s British driver was very much the driver to beat across the year, but how many stats charts did he top? Let’s find out…
Podiums – Cooper Webster (15)
So we said we’d see how many stats Mills would top, but he was just beaten to this one as nearest title rival Cooper Webster claimed 15 trophies across the year, with Mills taking 14, albeit sitting out the final event of the year at Donington, with the title secured at Brands Hatch. To prove each driver’s quality, both took podium finishes at every event they competed at in 2023. Colin Queen (Fortec) and Liam McNeilly (Fox) were next up with 10 each, while Queen’s teammate Aditya Kulkarni was inside the top-five of this particular stat, with four to his name in his first year of car racing.

14 – Tom Mills
10 – Colin Queen, Liam McNeilly
4 – Aditya Kulkarni
(six other drivers claimed at least one other podium)
Laps led – Tom Mills (105)
Mills takes this particular honour, and given his win tally (more on this later), it’s no surprise that his laps led total is in three figures. Webster was next up in this statistic, with 33 laps led, as the Australian battled for many of his wins, especially at the final round! Mills’ early-season teammate Jeremy Fairbairn is third on the laps led chart, mainly thanks to his staunch defensive drive on the way to victory in round one at Oulton Park, with McNeilly and Kai Daryanani tied on 12 laps led each.
105 – Tom Mills
33 – Cooper Webster
18 – Jeremy Fairbairn
12 – Liam McNeilly, Kai Daryanani
(five other drivers led at least one lap)
Points for places gained in race three – Tom Mills, Cooper Webster (35)
Mills and Webster proved to be masters of the reverse races, with both frequently surging up the order in the always-dramatic contests, and Webster actually winning two of them from towards the back of the grid, gaining 10 places in each at Snetterton and Donington Park. McNeilly was close in this stat, with 27 points earned for places gained in race three across the year, while Colin Queen earned 24, ahead of Elite’s Harri Reynolds and Evans GP’s Thomas Lee with 10 each.

27 – Liam McNeilly
24 – Colin Queen
10 – Harri Reynolds, Thomas Lee
(10 other drivers earned points for places gained)
Fastest laps – Tom Mills (seven)
The British driver takes sole charge of this stat, taking seven fastest laps across the campaign, but again it’ a close fought statistic, with Webster setting fastest lap on six occasions. McNeilly was their nearest challenger with four, ahead of Colin Queen with two and Reynolds with one.

Pole positions – Tom Mills (nine)
Mills was well clear in the qualifying statistics, as he claimed the George Russell Pole Position Cup with nine poles to his name. He started from the front of the grid at all but one event, Snetterton, where Webster was the driver to beat, and even then, Mills was alongside him on the front row. Webster took double poles at Snetterton and the Donington Park season finale, while Colin Queen was the other driver to take a pole position, at Donington towards the start of the season.

Wins – Tom Mills (10)
You all knew who’d be top of this one, didn’t you? Mills took at least one win at each event he competed at in 2023, including three out of the four at the mid-season Donington Park round. But five other drivers were able to savour their moment on the top step of the podium, with championship runner-up Webster winning five times, including a hat trick at the Donington finale, while McNeilly claimed two victories in his maiden campaign of single-seater racing. Jeremy Fairbairn, Harri Reynolds and Kai Daryanani secured a win each.
