KMR Sport’s Tom Mills scooped his third Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award with a record-breaking effort at Silverstone.
The 18-year-old, who had already taken the honour at the first Silverstone event, plus at Donington Park, broke his own lap record of the Grand Prix venue with an effort of 2m01.180s in the second contest of the weekend.
Fox Motorsport’s Liam McNeilly (Oulton Park) and Evans GP’s Cooper Webster (Snetterton) are the other contenders to have won the award so far in 2023.
“After the championship lead came down a bit at Snetterton, I was hoping we’d be able to extend it again because we were fast here in both wet and dry last time. I managed to do that and managed to make sure I made no mistakes” Mills said.
“Two wins, two poles, two fastest laps, a pretty good weekend!”
Mills’ fastest lap helped propel him to his second win of the weekend, one that puts him in position to potentially claim the GB4 Championship title at Brands Hatch next time out in September.
