What they said: Silverstone race three

Nikolas Taylor completed a sensational triple win at Silverstone by taking victory in the third race of the weekend, while title rivals Max Marzorati and Jarrod Waberski completed the podium places. Here’s how each driver reacted afterwards.

Winner, Nikolas Taylor, Fortec Motorsport:
“We should have done this last time, but now we’ve actually done it, and it feels amazing. The car was amazing, thanks to the team, it’s all because of them. It was bloody quick!

“With that pace, we could have definitely won from the back of the grid! We’ve had a great weekend all round, and watching the GB3 race I could see Joel [Granfors, Fortec’s GB3 racer] making up so many places, and I knew if he could do it, so could I. I think I did my best in copying him!

“I was quick here last time, but it wasn’t up to me. I don’t really like the pressure but to have family and friends here to see this is amazing. They really pushed me on to get the three wins.”

Second, Max Marzorati, Hillspeed:
“We went high risk so we went high on the tyre pressures which is what we were going to do for the last race. I knew after the first lap though because Nik had such a good lap, he was a couple of places ahead on the grid and that allowed him to get past some of the backmarkers quicker. By the end of the first lap he was already in the lead so I knew the race for the win might have been over already.

“But I knew if we got up to second we’d make up enough points from where we started that we’d make some points back on Nik. We’ve still gained, but once I got into second my rear tyres were done, they were cooked, so I was just hanging on for my life! Another lap and I would have dropped like a stone! We’ve kept the title race alive heading to Brands, and we can still get this!”

Third, Jarrod Waberski, Kevin Mills Racing:
“It’s a good race three result, and we had the pace all weekend, we knew that. We had to work quite hard in the second race and even harder in the third race. But we’re really chuffed with the development we’ve had with the car and myself throughout the year, and I can’t thank the team enough.

“I got Megan on the last lap and I was quite close with Max in the end, so one more lap and we could have got second.”
