Jack Sherwood, Nikolas Taylor and Tom Mills were the top-three drivers in the final GB4 race of the weekend at Brands Hatch. Here's how each driver reacted after the contest.
Winner, Jack Sherwood, Elite Motorsport:
"We've had a 1, 2, 3 this weekend! I think it’s been tough for everyone with Her Majesty passing away but everyone’s tried to get on with the weekend, I think it’s been a good celebration. The team have put out a mega car this weekend, it’s been a mega weekend for us as a team, not just in GB4 but in GB3 so I’m happy with how the weekend went.
"I think [Elite Motorsport] are one of, if not the best team in both championships at the moment. It just proves, these results, they can put out a mega car not just on a one weekend basis, throughout the season. It’s been mega, the car was so hooked up so couldn’t have done it without them.
"I wanted to clear them as fast as I could because I knew some people behind were on new tyres. I just wanted to build that gap and get away with it. The car has made it so easy to follow in dirty air, not just in that race, but in all three, so I’m really happy with it. I think all the team should be proud with the amount of effort they put into it."
Second, Nikolas Taylor, Fortec Motorsport:
"We got past him [Mills] pretty early and I just tried to keep ahead of him because him and Jarrod are the closest rivals and I got ahead of both of them. After that it was just picking them off one by one until the end of the race.
"This track is really hard to overtake, you need to set it up really well, I think it took a few laps, Tom gave me just enough space, it was a good battle."
Third, Tom Mills, Kevin Mills Racing:
"I was very pleased to get my first win in race one. Race two, obviously the low, you never want to be in an incident with your teammate but that was sorted internally so great to finish back on the podium and I’m looking forward to Donington.
"We respect each other, we’re both young drivers who want the most and it went a little too far earlier but you can’t hold a grudge for too long, we work together, we’re together all the time and that race we were together for a few laps at the end and it was all good so it’s fine now."
