Jack Sherwood, Max Marzorati and Tom Mills were the top-three finishers in the final GB4 race of the weekend at Snetterton. Here’s how each driver reacted at the end of the reverse grid contest.
Winner, Jack Sherwood, Elite Motorsport:
“We got a good start and then I did Chloe around the outside. I tried to get my head down and pull a gap, in case anything happened. It’s been a good weekend in general but maybe a few areas like in race two where we could have made a few positions. But it’s been a good weekend for us and the team has put out a mega car. I’m looking forward now going to Silverstone.
“It was always going to be tricky coming into my first year in single-seaters, but I think I’ve adapted quite well and the team has helped me massively. I couldn’t have made this jump without them. We seem to have clicked after Silverstone and I’m very happy.”
Second, Max Marzorati, Hillspeed:
“Sherwood has been so quick all weekend and he really deserved the win. All weekend he’s been rapid, I don’t know what happened in qualifying but he’s driving really well and whenever I’ve been battling with him he’s been hard but fair and it’s been good fun.
“I’m really happy with that race, I had a mega first lap and was able to get behind Jack early on. But Jack’s pace was really good and started eking out a lead, and I thought it was best to keep it consistent, I had an easy P2 and there was no point throwing it away and losing everything we were gaining. Last night I thought it was going to be a damage limitation weekend but I’ve had a fourth, two seconds and am now in the championship lead.”
Third, Tom Mills, Kevin Mills Racing:
“It’s a good end to go from eighth to third, I’ve had a tough weekend and I should have had better results in the first two races but it’s good to come back after a few tough meetings and a tough day yesterday so I’m happy to be back on the podium.
“The team has worked so hard and it’s showing by both Jarrod and me being so fast, so hopefully we’re on the up now for the last three weekends.”
