Logan Hannah confirmed as GB4’s first driver with Graham Brunton Racing and Laser Tools

25 January 2022

Successful Formula Ford racer Logan Hannah has been confirmed as the first driver on the grid for the inaugural GB4 Championship partnered by the BRDC season.

Logan joins the series with Graham Brunton Racing, with prominent backing from Laser Tools Racing.

The 20-year-old graduated from karting into Formula Ford in 2018, and has regularly competed at the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy events. She was classified fourth overall in the Scottish Formula Ford Championship in 2019.

Logan also made appearances in UAE F4 in 2018 and 2019, including at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix supporting event in 2019.

Now gearing up for her first campaign of slicks-and-wings racing, Logan commented: “I’m so looking forward to this coming season! Having competed in the UK National and Scottish Formula Ford 1600 championships for three seasons, I feel that I am ready to move up to the more sophisticated formula.

“GB4 is a tremendously exciting new championship that will progress aspiring drivers forwards in single-seater racing and with Laser Tools Racing’s support, I’m very proud to be involved at this early stage.

“So with Laser Tools Racing behind me, I plan to continue my successful relationship with Knockhill-based Graham Brunton Racing who will prepare and run the race car. Graham and his son Craig have looked after me for a number of years now and they have at all times been totally supportive — and they wield a mean spanner!”

Chairman of Laser Tools, Martin Smith is just as enthusiastic: “Logan provided an impressive performance in 2021 which gave us the confidence to continue our support for 2022. Laser Tools Racing is all about spotting young talent and then developing that talent on the race track. That’s exactly what we will be doing with Logan this year.”

The GB4 Championship starts with three races at Snetterton on 2-3 April, before joining the British GT and GB3 package at all six of its UK rounds. This includes visits to Oulton Park (15-18 April), Silverstone GP circuit (7-8 May), and the first of two trips to Donington Park on 28-29 May. The second Snetterton outing comes on 25-26 June before a GB3 supporting round at Silverstone again (30-31 July). The final two events return to the British GT package, at Brands Hatch Grand Prix (10-11 September) and the season finale at Donington Park on 15-16 October.
