The 2022 GB4 Championship blasted into life at Snetterton less than two weeks ago, and the second round of the inaugural season takes place at Cheshire’s Oulton Park this weekend (16/18 April). Qualifying and three races are on the schedule once more, as well as two busy days of pre-event testing on Thursday and Friday.
Nikolas Taylor, Alex Walker and Megan Gilkes were the winners at Snetterton, and the trio of races this weekend could well see other names join their ranks, with Tom Mills, Max Marzorati, Jarrod Waberski and Elias Adestam impressing with podiums in Norfolk. All three races this weekend will again feature a class-leading live streaming package featuring build-up and post-race analysis, plus interviews, hosted by Jon Jackson with commentary from Lewis McGlade.
Here’s the full schedule for this week, and details of how visitors to www.gb-4.net can follow all the on track activity.
THURSDAY
09.45-10.25 – Test session one
12.00-12.40 – Test session two
15.10-15.50 – Test session three
While many teams and drivers will have tested at Oulton Park on Tuesday, preparations will really ramp up on Thursday with two hours of running across three separate sessions. Live timing will be available all day on the official GB4 Championship website.
FRIDAY
09.40-10.15 – Test session one
11.20-11.55 – Test session two
15.25-16.00 – Test session three
The teams and drivers will conclude their pre-event preparations in Cheshire with three additional sessions providing 105 minutes of total track time. Full live timing will again be available.
SATURDAY
09.00-09.15 – Qualifying (live timing available on the GB4 website)
13.35-13.53 – Race one (live pre-race coverage starts at approximately 13.00)
Qualifying at 9am will again decide the grids for the first two races of the weekend. Each driver’s fastest times will determine the starting order for race one, and second fastest times will form the grid for race two, held on Monday morning. The first GB4 race of the weekend is due to commence at 13.35, and will be streamed live in full on the championship’s official website, Facebook page and the MSV TV YouTube channel. Coverage will start at around 1pm, while post-race analysis will include driver interviews and the podium presentations.
MONDAY
10.05-10.23 – Race two (live coverage starts at 09.45)
14.15-14.33 – Race three (live at 13.55)
There’s no on track action at Oulton Park on Easter Sunday, so the weekend resumes on Monday, with two further GB4 races. The second race of the weekend is scheduled for 10.05, with live coverage starting from 09.45, while the final race, the exciting reverse grid contest with the fastest qualifiers at the back, due to begin at 14.15. Live coverage will start at 13.55 ahead of the final GB4 race, and will continue afterwards to show analysis and then the final GB3 race of the event.
