Graham Brunton Racing and Laser Tools confirm Chloe Grant in all-female GB4 line-up

21 February 2022

Chloe Grant has been confirmed as the second driver in Graham Brunton Racing’s all-female GB4 Championship line-up, with prominent support from Laser Tools Racing.

The 15-year-old from Perth started karting in 2013 at the age of seven. Within four years she was racing in Minimax and won the 2017 ESKC Championship, while also being named as the most improved Minimax Driver of The Year.

In 2019 she again competed in the ESKC Championship, which she led from the start of the season, with two wins and several additional podiums. Grant also finished as runner-up in the NSKC Championship, third in the Grampian category and was the only driver across all classes to take podiums in each of the three championships.

In 2020, she focused on the NKF and CKRC Championships at Rowrah, taking third in NKF, and winning the latter. At the end of the year, she was announced as the British Women's Racing Driver Club’s (BWRDC) Kart Sport Champion.

Chloe won the Junior Saloon Car Scholarship in 2021, with the opportunity opening the door to car racing. She spent the season honing her race craft in the category and learning the top circuits in the UK across a calendar of nine events.

Grant is a member of the prestigious BWRDC and she picked up two honours from the club for her achievements last year, winning the Anita Taylor Trophy for the best performance in a saloon car and coming third in the BWRDC Racing Championship for the Goodwin Trophy.

In 2019, she was chosen to be a Scottish Motor Racing Club Rising Star, the youngest driver to earn the accolade. 2020 started with a nomination from the BWRDC for their Junior GoldStar Award, with her subsequent win announced at the Autosport International Show in January. Then, Grant become the youngest driver to gain a Motorsport UK Junior Racing Driver License in Scotland.

She’s now preparing for her single-seater debut with Graham Brunton Racing, and completes the team’s all-female line-up alongside Formula Ford graduate Logan Hannah, who is also backed by Laser Tools Racing.

Chloe Grant commented: "My ambition has always been to step up from the karting circuit into single-seater racing, and now I'm taking on the new GB4 series with Laser Tools Racing - what an opportunity!

"GB4 is a very exciting new championship that will see aspiring drivers progress in single-seater racing and with Laser Tools Racing’s support, I’m really proud to be involved in this new series. And to be partnered with Logan Hannah, well that's got to be the dream team!"

Laser Tools Chairman Martin Smith, said: "We are delighted to sign up Chloe Grant and feel that paired with Logan Hannah's ability and experience we can continue with Laser's ethos of spotting young talent and then developing that talent on the race track. We're confident that we've assembled another winning team."

Graham Brunton Racing Team Manager Craig Brunton commented: "It’s great to have Chloe joining us. We’ve seen her progress from karts to cars and she comes from a real racing family with a huge passion for the sport.

"This will be a big learning curve - moving to slicks and wings in the Tatuus chassis. But her approach to learning new skills has really impressed us. Working with a two-girl team in the Laser Tools Racing branded cars is an amazing opportunity and we can’t wait to hit the track and begin the hard work!"

Graham Brunton added: "We are so proud to be putting forward this wonderful two-girl team. Both drivers have so much to offer this exciting series, we really cannot wait!"

Chloe will also benefit from support from the John Clark Motor Group during the 2022 season.
