Fortec Motorsports retains podium finisher Jack Taylor for GB4 return

04 November 2024

Fortec Motorsports has confirmed that Jack Taylor will remain with the team for the 2025 GB4 Championship season.

The Australian driver made impressive strides in his debut season on British soil, securing his first podium on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit and achieving 13 top 10-finishes throughout the year.

Prior to coming to the UK, he began his karting career in Tasmania, where he earned several podiums before travelling to the mainland to test both Formula Ford and Formula 4 machinery.

Jack was selected by Motorsport Australia for the Ferrari Driver Academy Asia Pacific and Oceania shootout at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit. Building on this experience, he then competed in the F4 Indian Championship, where he placed eighth in the standings after five rounds, despite facing a highly competitive field.

The 2025 GB4 Championship will introduce the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car, a significant upgrade featuring advanced safety features, including the essential halo device. The new car also boasts improved aerodynamics and is powered by a two-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated Mountune engine. Maintaining the established power-to-weight ratio, the series will continue to welcome drivers as young as 15.

Jack Taylor said: "I’m incredibly happy to be returning to the GB4 Championship with Fortec Motorsports. 2024 was a fantastic year; it was one of our best seasons in terms of both learning and gaining invaluable experience, and I genuinely enjoyed every step of it thanks to the amazing support from the team. The new car looks really exciting, and I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and start testing for 2025. I’m looking forward to building on everything we achieved last season and aiming even higher for 2025."

Team Principal Ollie Dutton said: "We’re really looking forward to working with Jack again this year in the GB4 Championship. He’s a young driver with good potential, and it’s been impressive to watch his progress so far. Moving all the way from Australia was a big step, and it demonstrated just how dedicated he is and how hard he’s willing to work to reach his goals. He did a fantastic job securing a podium this past season, and we know he’ll be aiming for even more consistent top-five finishes next season. We’re committed to working closely with him to help him achieve those ambitions, and we’re excited to see his continued development with the team."
