Fortec’s Nikolas Taylor claimed his fifth win of the year in the opening contest of the weekend at Snetterton, finishing ahead of KMR’s Jarrod Waberski and Elite’s Jack Sherwood. Here’s how each driver reacted at the end of the race.

Winner, Nikolas Taylor, Fortec Motorsport:
“Quali was amazing and the car’s been great. I just wanted to get a good start and lead into turn one, which is what I did. After that I tried to control it, I made a few mistakes but I’m sure I’ll clean those up for tomorrow.

“As long as I get a good start I think we can do this again tomorrow. Anyone can challenge, in testing everyone was so close but in quali I really nailed that lap. But anyone could challenge me tomorrow.”

Second, Jarrod Waberski, Kevin Mills Racing:
“It’s a good result, I think we had more pace towards the end of the race, so if I’d got past Tom I could have pushed a bit more and put some pressure on Nikolas. But it’s a good result and it’s good to be back on the podium again and I’m definitely happy with all the hard work the team has put in, so thanks very much to them.”

Third, Jack Sherwood, Elite Motorsport:
“It was good, but I got an average start but I got past the two Hillspeeds, one on the first lap and then the other a bit later on. And then I just got my head down, I could see the pack ahead battling so I tried to pull up to that and we were quite fast at that point.

“Then we got onto the back of Waberski a bit late, just as I was coming around the last sector I really caught up to him. I’m happy to be able to get a podium and repay the boys.”
