Elite Motorsport are the latest team to have collected GB4 machinery from the championship’s Bedford Autodrome base, having picked up their first car this week.
The team has enjoyed incredible success in Ginetta Juniors and Ginetta GT4’s in the last few years with multiple titles, and branched out into single-seaters for the first time with a three-car effort in the GB3 Championship in 2021, taking podiums with Tom Lebbon and Javier Sagrera.
Expanding further in 2022, the Thetford-based team are now ready to get to grips with a new challenge in GB4, and plan to run multiple cars in the UK’s newest single-seater category.
“It’s great to collect the first car, and we’ll give it a good look over in the short amount of time before Christmas” said Team Principal Eddie Ives.
The team has just returned from several days of testing across Spain and Portugal with their three GB3 cars, and Ives is hoping to gain similar mileage when his GB4 squad is at full strength.
“Once we can start testing again in January we’ll be out on track and the plan is to give some of the drivers we’ve been talking to over the past few weeks a good bit of seat time. We’ll have more cars available soon too, and we can really ramp up our efforts from there.
“It’s an exciting time for us, we’ve been talking to a lot of drivers and people to work with, and we’ve got lots of developments going on behind the scenes that will add strength to our efforts.”
